Mac Users: InteractiVR Desktop is currently Windows-only. Mac support is on our roadmap. For now, Mac users can use VR Mode with a Meta Quest headset.

Firewall & Network Notes

If you're using InteractiVR in a corporate or university environment, ensure these are not blocked:

  • Outbound HTTPS (port 443) must be allowed

  • WebSocket connections must be permitted

  • AI/ML service domains should be whitelisted

IT Administrators: Contact [email protected] for a list of domains to whitelist if your network has strict firewall rules.


Checking Your Setup

Test Your Microphone

Windows:

  1. Open SettingsSystemSound

  2. Under Input, select your microphone

  3. Speak and watch the volume bar move

  4. If no movement, check connections and permissions

In VR:

  1. Go to SettingsDeviceMicrophone

  2. Ensure microphone is enabled

  3. Test in a voice app like Meta Messenger

Test Your Internet Speed

Visit speedtest.net and check:

  • Download speed: 10+ Mbps minimum

  • Upload speed: 5+ Mbps minimum

  • Ping: Under 100ms preferred


Troubleshooting Common Issues

"Microphone not detected"

  • Check that your mic is plugged in

  • Grant microphone permissions to InteractiVR

  • Try a different microphone

  • Restart the application

"Slow AI responses"

  • Check your internet connection

  • Move closer to your Wi-Fi router

  • Close other bandwidth-heavy applications

  • Try a wired ethernet connection (Desktop)

"App won't install" (VR)

  • Free up storage on your headset

  • Restart your Quest and try again

  • Ensure your Quest software is up to date

"App crashes on launch" (Desktop)

  • Update your graphics drivers

  • Run as Administrator

  • Check that you meet minimum requirements

  • Reinstall the application
