Quick Start Guide
Get started with InteractiVR in under 5 minutes. This guide walks you through your first practice session.
Step 1: Choose Your Platform
VR Mode (Recommended)
Open the Meta Quest Store on your headset
Search for "InteractiVR"
Download and install the app
Launch InteractiVR from your app library
Desktop Mode
Visit interactivr.com/download
Download the Windows installer
Run the installer and follow the prompts
Launch InteractiVR from your desktop
Step 2: Create Your Account
Select "Create Account" on the welcome screen
Enter your email address
Create a password (minimum 8 characters)
Check your email for a verification link
Click the link to activate your account
Step 3: Choose Your Training Mode
After signing in, you'll see two options:
🎯 Candidate Mode
"I want to practice being interviewed"
Choose this if you're:
Preparing for a job interview
Practicing behavioral questions
Working on your STAR method responses
👔 Hiring Manager Mode
"I want to practice conducting interviews"
Choose this if you're:
A hiring manager
New to interviewing candidates
Working on reducing interview bias
Step 4A: Your First Candidate Session
You'll see a setup screen with the following fields:
Name
Enter your name so the AI interviewer can address you naturally.
Job Title
Enter the job you're applying for (e.g., "Project Manager", "Software Engineer", "Marketing Director").
Job Description
Copy and paste the job description from the posting you're targeting. This helps the AI ask relevant questions about the skills and experience the employer is looking for.
Pro Tip: Open the job posting in another browser window, select all the text, copy it, and paste it into this field. The more detail you provide, the more relevant your practice will be.
Resume (Optional but Recommended)
Copy and paste your resume text into the resume field. The AI will use this to:
Ask questions about YOUR specific experience
Reference projects and roles from your background
Make the practice feel like a real interview about YOU

Begin with your resume and job context loaded
Start Simulation Without Context
Practice with generic behavioral questions
During the Interview
Speak naturally — the AI understands conversational responses
Take your time — it's okay to pause and think
Use the STAR method — Situation, Task, Action, Result
In VR: Look at the interviewer to show engagement
On Desktop: Speak clearly into your microphone
After Your Session
You'll see your Interview Performance Report with:
Overall Performance Score — Your total score (e.g., 85 = "Very Good")
STAR Method Analysis — Individual S, T, A, R scores
Performance Scores — Clarity, Specific Examples, Measurable Results, Communication, Confidence
Key Strengths — What you did well
Areas for Improvement — Where to focus next
Recommended Next Steps — Specific actions to improve
Click "Try Another Scenario" to practice again.
Step 4B: Your First Hiring Manager Session
You'll see a setup screen with the following fields:
Position
Enter the job title you're interviewing candidates for (e.g., "Senior Accountant", "Sales Representative", "Software Developer").
Job Description (Optional)
Copy and paste the job description as a reference. This helps the AI candidate give relevant answers based on the role requirements.
Candidate Resume (Optional)
Copy and paste a candidate's resume to personalize your AI Interview Partner. The AI will roleplay as a candidate with that specific background.

Begin with the candidate context you provided
Start Simulation Without
Practice with a generic AI candidate
During the Interview
Ask open-ended questions — avoid yes/no questions
Follow up — probe for specifics when answers are vague
Watch your talking time — let the candidate speak
Avoid leading questions — the AI will track these
Build rapport — start with a warm welcome
After Your Session
You'll see your Interview Performance Report with:
Overall Performance Score — Your total score (e.g., 82 = "Good Performance")
STAR Method Analysis — How well your questions prompted STAR responses
Individual Question Scores — Each question rated with feedback

Competency Coverage
Follow-up Probing
Legal/Ethical Compliance
Candidate Engagement
Talk-to-Listen Ratio — Visual bar showing your balance (aim for 40% or less)
Rapport & Comfort — How well you built connection
Bias Awareness — Any concerns flagged
Key Strengths — What you did well
Areas for Improvement — Where to focus next
Click "Restart" to practice again.
Step 5: Review and Improve
Track Your Progress
View your Session History in your profile
See improvement trends over time
Identify patterns in your feedback
Practice Regularly
We recommend:
Candidates: 2-3 sessions per week leading up to interviews
Hiring Managers: 1-2 sessions per month to maintain skills
